Mesa Kino Junior High School lockdown lifted
The lock down at a Mesa junior high school was lifted early Wednesday afternoon because police believed the robber was no longer in the area of Horne and Eighth Street, according to a Mesa police spokesman.
Kino Junior High School was initially placed on locked down shortly after 10 a.m. while police were searching for a robber that was thought to have been in the area.
Mesa Police Detective Esteban Flores said that after a search of the area, investigators believe the robber fled the area.
Flores declined to release a description of the robber, who was still at large.
Police placed Kino Junior High School on lock down after 10 a.m. because officers were searching for the robber within a block of school boundaries, Flores said.
Kino Junior High School is located on north Horne near Eighth Street.
