PATNA: Patna police are all set to watch ‘Mardaani’, a movie based on human trafficking. The men in khaki will hit the theatre on Wednesday night and then move around the city in the style depicted in another movie – ‘Singham Returns’.
Arvind Pandey, IG, CID (weaker sections), through a letter, has instructed all the district SPs, Railway SPs and Commandants of Bihar Military Police (BMP) to arrange shows of ‘Mardaani’ for the policemen so that they may take lessons from the Bollywood flick.

“For some reason, police officers are the mainstay of Bollywood movies. Whether they are good people, bad people and in some cases even grey characters, police officers make their way into the Bollywood script with ease. But in reality, they work in dangerous situations, sometimes risking their lives. During past several years, we have rescued a large number of victims of human trafficking and busted such gangs. The character of Rani Mukherjee in the movie is of a senior inspector of CID, which will encourage the policemen to show the same determination to bust sex racket network in the state,” said the IG.
Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said, “Movies like ‘Singham Returns’ and ‘Mardaani’, have stunning portrayals of police officers who bravely tackle crime. We have planned to show ‘Mardaani’ to IPS officers, DSPs, SDPOs and SHOs of the police stations in Patna on Wednesday. The SHOs will then show the movie at the police station level. After the movie, we will conduct raids and move around on Patna roads like the hero of ‘Singham Returns’. We will try to include women police as much as possible in the team.”
Patna SP (city) Ashish Bharti said, “Dabaang was the movie that made a police officer popular once again. Salman Khan played Chulbul Pandey in the movie. The audience gets a better idea of how police officers are pitted against the good, the bad and the evil, and all in a single day of work. Such intensity is really needed to do justice in real life.”
“Among the many famous dialogues of Hindi movies, I always keep in mind the dialogue delivered by Amir Khan in the movie ‘Sarfarosh’. The dialogue was: “Main har mujrim ko kanoon ke samne bhikhari ki tarah khara rahte dekhna chahta hoon (I want to see every criminal begging in front of law),” said Khagaria SP Kim. She said she was also planning to host a show of ‘Mardaani’ for her colleagues in Khagaria.
