Second-Gen Cadillac XLR Rendered, Not Gonna Happen Too Soon

Anyone remeber the Cadillac XLR? It was Caddy's version of the Chevrolet Corvette C5 and it's the kind of car the luxury manufacturer needs in this day and age to make ends meet. Too bad the convertible Caddy has been killed off five years ago and the current lineup doesn't have any drop-top model.
Cadillac's chief engineer Dave Leone has recently suggested that apart from the 2015 Cadillac ATS-V, 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and an all-new flagship model dubbed by the media as the LTS, the company is also considering to make a convertible model.

It's not clear if it'll be an all-new model or the ATS coupe's roof will be chopped off, but nevertheless, we expect that to happen sometime in 2016. Keep those fingers crossed until then. If that's too much of an effort, then check out the rendering of pixel manipulator a.k.a Photoshop wizard Remco Meulendijk.

That is a rear quarter view of what the second-generation Cadillac XLR would look like if it were to be underpinned by the outgoing Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7. Doesn't it look dashing? Well, maybe not the brown cloth roof, but that edgy body work, those seven-spoke shiny alloy wheels, L-shaped taillights and XTS-like headlights, together with no less than four exhausts exists ooze elegance and aggresiveness.

Now imagine that under the sleek hood there's the 650 hp blown V8 from the all-new Z06. That's quite the hoonin' with style recipe, all wrapped up in a package wearing one of the best badges in the biz.
