Katie Holmes buys new $3.8 million home in California

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Katie Holmes has reportedly left her New York City apartment for a spacious home in Calabasas, Calif.

TMZ reports, Holmes' new 6,000-square-foot home in The Oaks cost $3,795,000. The property is located close to where Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and Toni Braxton Live.

The Mrs. Meadows star, 35, reportedly decided to move to California in an effort to revamp her career and because she thinks it'll be a better place to raise Suri, her 8-year-old daughter with Tom Cruise, and there are many kids in their new neighborhood.

Holmes got her daughter a new pet chihuahua she named Maple as a moving-away present, but new reports claim the dog has already gone missing. The actress is reportedly offering a $1,000 reward to whomever finds it.

Holmes will next star in the dramas Days and Night, Mrs. Meadows and Mania Days in 2014 and in Woman in Gold in 2015.
