DPS wins Bhopal round of CBSE Cryptic Crossword

Kabeer Jay and Aagosh Chaudhary of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bhopal were declared winners of city round of the CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest (CCCC) 2014.Event was held at DPS on Tuesday.

BHOPAL: Kabeer Jay and Aagosh Chaudhary of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bhopal were declared winners of city round of the CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest (CCCC) 2014. Event was held at DPS on Tuesday. Anjali Sahu and Mansha Makhad of Carmel Convent BHEL were declared runners-up. In all 15 schools from Bhopal region participated in the contest. CCCC is a CBSE challenge initiated for students studying in classes IX to XII, which is coordinated by Extra C.
Event began with Raj Narayan, national coordinator, for CCCC-2014 addressing the media followed by a 60 minutes examination wherein all the participants solved crossword puzzles enthusiastically. Valedictory function was held at the junior college amphitheater.Principal DPS, Ajay K Sharma welcomed all teachers and students while chief guest Nitin Ambaselkar greeted the winners. President student's council of DPS Bhopal, Riddhi Gulati, proposed the vote of thanks.
FOOTBALL TOURNEY: City superintendent of police (CSP), Govindpura Riyaz Iqbal inaugurated the 15th St Thomas Cup football tournament on Monday. Tournament is organised by Sahodaya Compels. Addressing the students, Iqbal shared some of his experiences as football player. This year, 16 teams from various CBSE schools are competing in the tournament. President Bhopal Sahodaya Complex Bro T Alex, principal St Thomas School, Fr Thomas Malancharuvil were present on the occasion. Fr Thomas welcomed participating teams, officials and coaches. Four matches were held on the opening day. On the opening day Bank Officer's School, Campion School, Mount Carmel and International Public School won their respective matches.
TRIBUTE: Students of Pretty Petals Foundation School paid tribute to Mother Teresa by dressing up like her on mother's 104th birth anniversary celebrated in the school on Tuesday. ?Ma Tujhe Salaam' ceremony was observed with much devotion. Principal Anshika S Keswani and director Shashi Kumar Keswani were present. They informed students about Mother Teresa's life and her contributions.
GROUP SONG: Students of Anand Vihar School were the runners-up at a patriotic group song competition organized at Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club on August 22. Nine schools of the city participated in the competition. A science exhibition was also organized at the school on the same day. Students of classes VI to X participated and prepared working models on various concepts of science. School managing committee members Rekha Sinha appreciated efforts of students and teachers.
