BHOPAL: Repair and maintenance works on Kolar pipeline is likely to affect water supply in several parts of the city including Arera Colony and TT Nagar on Wednesday. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said normal supply would be restored by Wednesday evening.
About a dozen minor leakages are being repaired on the 25-year-old pipeline. This is second repair work undertaken by the civic body in barely last four months.
There was a major leakage at Kolar pipeline and shifting of pipeline because of construction work of railway over bridge at Habibganj crossing.

On Tuesday, BMC began repairs and shifting of 900 mm water pipeline near the under construction Habibganj flyover. Water supply in some areas was restored on Tuesday night.
According to BMC officials water supply will be affected at Railway Colony, Habibganj, Janata Quarters, Nehru Nagar, South TT Nagar and parts of Arera Colony on Wednesday. In Old Bhopal, water supply will be affected at Jehangirabad, PGBT College, Qazi Camp, Nishatpura, Ibrahimpura (and surrounding areas), Bal Vihar, Bus stand, Railway station and adjoining area.
"At the moment pipeline is empty and to achieve full pressure, it takes about 10 hours to reach various pumping stations in the city," said a BMC official.
