A constable posted at a police station in Outer Delhi was arrested by his colleagues inside the police station on charges of corruption and criminal intimidation. Police said the accused, Constable Joginder Singh, was posted in Shahbad Dairy police station in Outer Delhi.

DCP (Outer) Vikramjit Singh said that a complaint was received wherein the complainant alleged that Singh had demanded a sum of Rs 5,000.
Video footage of the constable demanding and accepting the money was submitted by the complainant to the Vigilance department of Outer district.

The constable has been booked under Section 7/3 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. So far this month, at least five police personnel have been booked for corruption after Delhi Police launched a new helpline on WhatsApp.

During the launch, police urged people to take videos of any officer taking bribes and send it to the Vigilance department.
