To boost BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K, the party’s national general secretary and RSS ideologue Ram Madhav visited Kashmir Tuesday and met local party leaders. Madhav also held meetings with the state’s Governor Narendra Nath Vora and the Director General of Police during the one-day visit. He also met some Assembly members of the BJP from Jammu.
Interestingly, BJP leaders remained tight-lipped regarding what transpired in the meetings with Madhav. The BJP national general secretary also did not visit the state party office during his visit, leading many to term the visit ‘secret’.
BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur, however, said: “It was not a secret visit but an official one. Madhav met J&K Governor and J&K DGP.’’
During his meetings with the Governor, Madhav reportedly discussed plans to rehabilitate Internally Displaced Persons, who migrated in the wake of shelling from the Pakistani side.
