Rail route jammed by goods train derailment

Gorakhpur: The engine and nine wagons of a goods train laden with wheat derailed at 1.52am on Tuesday in Maharajganj district near Ghughli railway station, disrupting traffic on the route. The train was going from Damoh to Sitamadi. No casualty was reported.
“The goods train derailed in the morning and work to clear the route has been on at war footing,” said CPRO, NER, Alok Kumar Singh, adding “as soon as we got information, an Accident Relief Train (ART) departed from Gorakhpur and Sonpur stations.Senior officials including chief safety officer reached the spot too. Movement of rail traffic has been suspended temporarily as the mainline section has been blocked.”

Other trains cancelled on 26-8-2014 due to accident include 55201 Narkatiaganj-Gorakhpur passenger train , 55208 Gorakhpur-Narkatiaganj passenger train, 552041 Narkatiaganj – Gorakhpur passenger, 55203 Narkatiaganj – Gorakhpur passenger train, 55206 Gorakhpur -Narkatiaganj passenger, 552030 Gorakhpur -Muzaffarpur passenger, 55042 Gorakhpur- Sonpur, 55202 Gorakhpur- Narkatiaganj, 55204 Gorakhpur- Narkatiaganj. The 12538 Manduadeeh- Muzaffarnagar train which was scheduled to depart on 27-8- 2014 will be cancelled.
Short terminated trains include; 15274 Delhi- Raxoul train which departed on 25-8- 2014 will be cancelled between Delhi and Raxoul, 55206 Gorakhpur- Narkatiaganj which departed from 25-8-2014 will be cancelled between Kaptanganj and Narkatiaganj, 52209 Sonpur- Gorakhpur which departed on 25-8-2014 will be cancelled between Siswa Bazar and Gorakhpur and 12537 Muzaffarpur- Manduadeeh which has departed on 25-8-2014 will be cancelled between Bagha and Manduadeeh.
