Former Law Minister Punjab says report does not mention who ordered to fire

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Former Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah has said that the Model Town Tribunal report is incomplete and it did not mention the authority that ordered to open fire on the occasion.

Talking exclusively to Dunya News today (Tuesday), Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader from Faisalabad said that nobody was declared responsible for the incident in this report. “We are innocent in this matter”, said PMLN leader.

Commenting on the 16 August meeting that was presided over by the then Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah said that just the decision about removal of barriers was taken during that meeting.

Rana Sanaullah said that a conspiracy was being hatched against the elected government otherwise the protesters would have left already. He said that such dramas were being staged ever since the sit-ins had been staged in Islamabad. “All actors will be unveiled”, said Rana.

“It is a media war. I was wondering what would be the Breaking News today”, said Rana Sanaullah. He thanked Dunya News for giving him time for clarifying his stance on the report.

Former Law Minister Punjab informed that the process of releasing the report takes 40 days. He told that this report will be reviewed by the committee and the committee will give its findings. He said that if the report had given any findings, he would have surely filed a review petition against it.

“The report does not recommend anything”, said Rana Sanaullah. “None of the 15 people who were present in the 16 June meeting was called by the tribunal”, told Rana Sanaullah.
