Martin heads to Disney's Magic Camp

The 69-year-old funnyman is said to be in final negotiations to return to the studio where he first started his career, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

News of his involvement came after it was revealed that the Father Of The Bride star had already written the most recent draft of the film's script with Stu Zicherman. It was originally written by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah.

Magic Camp tells the story of a strait-laced banker who returns to the camp where he spent his youth as a shy kid. This time around, he's a counsellor who aims to improve the lives of the children while trying to triumph in the Golden Wand competition.

Steve worked at Magic Shop at Disneyland when he was younger, and was a magician in his early days as a comedian. He last worked with Disney with the studio's Touchstone label on Shopgirl in 2005. His previous big-screen outings with the studio include 2003 comedy Bringing Down The House and Father Of The Bride

The actor's last film role was in 2011's comedy The Big Year with Jack Black and Owen Wilson, and he will next be heard in DreamWorks 3D animated film, Home, alongside Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons.
