Today's ECP meeting to discuss the rigging allegations by Afzal Khan and Imran Khan has been delayed

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)— Meeting of Election Commission of Pakistan scheduled for today (Tuesday) has been postponed as the ECP members couldn t reach the ECP headquarters due to the closure of roads in the Red Zone area of Islamabad, Dunya News reported.

The ECP meeting will be called again soon in which the former Secretary of Election Commission Afzal khan and Imran khan’s allegations of rigged 2013 elections and the current political situation will be reviewed.

Members of the Election Commission of Pakistan could not reach the ECP headquarters and therefore, the ECP meeting scheduled for today was delayed until a later date. All the leading roads to Red Zone area in Islamabad have been blocked to ensure safety and security of thousands of followers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Tahir-ul-Qadri who have been demonstrating outside the parliament building in Islamabad, trying to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from office.

According to the sources, the next meeting would be held soon to review the rigging allegations leveled by Imran Khan. Moreover, the ECP will also look into Afzal Khan’s allegations of printing extra ballot papers.

Former Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) additional ‎secretary Muhammad Afzal Khan made startling revelations about rigging in 2013 elections and ‎alleged that justice (r) Riaz Kiyani and former chief justice IfthikharChaudhry was responsible ‎for disrupting the elections.‎

Khan opened a Pandora’s Box by boldly claiming that people’s mandate was stolen in the ‎‎2013 elections, adding that Kiyani was majorly responsible for corruption.

Khan alleged that Ifthikhar Chaudhry appointed returning officers instead of the ECP and ‎Tasaduq Hussian Jillani was part of the great game as well.‎

The former additional secretary rhetorically said that how Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar knew ‎that votes were unverifiable even though they were sealed.‎

Afzal Khan claimed that election tribunal’s integrity has been compromised, as they have been ‎bribed by undue favors. He endorsed Imran Khan’s rigging claims.‎

Afzal Khan alleged that former chief election commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim had ‎overlooked the colossal rigging on purpose, as he was terrified of ‎whistle blowing.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan had accused Najam Sethi, Justice (R) Khalilur Rehman Ramday and the then advocate General Riaz Kayani of rigging the general elections.
