Four militants killed in clash with security forces in Jamrud

TTP militants were killed in Malik Shiga area, sources said.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – At least four militants were killed in clash with the security forces in Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber tribal region, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.

According sources, the overnight clash took place in Malik Shiga village.

Meanwhile, curfew was imposed and security forces launched search operation in the area to trace other militants. Local administration reported that killed terrorists belong to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Separately, body of a local person was recovered in Sur Kamar area of Jamrud. The victim identified as Younas Khan was killed in gun attack.

On other hand, authorities have handed over list of seventy wanted extremists to the tribal elders.

The attack came at a time when security forces are fighting against the local and foreign militants in North Waziristan Agency. Pakistan launched a military offensive (Zarb-e-Azb) in mid-June to seize control of the Taliban stronghold of North Waziristan, a remote mountainous region on the border with Afghanistan.
