Acer recently launched an industry premier, in the form of the first Chromebook to receive power from a NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor.

But if one brand vendor is doing it, you can surely expect the competition to follow. So Acer will not be the only company offering Tegra K1 Chromebooks soon.

The good folks over at Mobile Geeks have uncovered several retail listings in online shops like Neobits and Shoponize that show a HP laptop running on the same chip.

The laptop will be a new version of the HP Chromebook 14 and will offer a 14-inch display with the same 1366 x 748 pixel resolution. The main difference is going to be Tegra K1 “Logan” processor inside fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

To wrap up the specifications list, HP is throwing in 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, mic plus webcam and a 37Whr battery.

The new laptop is not currently shipping out to customers, so we probably have a little while to wait until it will become officially available.

If you can’t wait, of course the HP Chromebook 14 is still available for pick up. As mentioned, the biggest difference is the processor sustaining life onboard, which in this case is an Intel Celeron 2955U (from the Haswell family).

On the other hand, if your cravings lie in the Tegra department, you should know HP already has a laptop running on a Tegra 4 processor, called the Slatebook 14.

However, the notebook does not make use of Chrome OS or Windows but of Android. On the bright side, it comes equipped with a touchscreen display.

The new NVIDA Tegra K1 ARM-based model HP laptops might bring about longer battery life and consume less power altogether compared to the current Intel-enhanced models.

Nonetheless, pricing won’t differ too much. If we are to treat the retail listings as accurate, we might see the Chromebook 14 sell for around $299 / €226.

The retail listings don’t mention how long the new HP Chromebook 14 will be able to last, but looking at the Acer model we can hypothesize the new HP laptop might be able to deliver a battery life that can last users up to 13 hours

As for the Acer Chromebook 13, the device is offered with either plain HD or full HD options. The laptop also comes equipped with two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI out. Check out its full specifications here to compare.
