Learn tennis tricks from maverick Naseeruddin Shah

Popular city MC Anuj Gurwara was in for a pleasant surprise when he walked into Century Club at Cubbon Park for his usual game of tennis on the weekend. On the court, looking for a partner, was none other actor extraordinaire, Naseeruddin Shah.
The two teamed up to play a game of doubles, during which Gurwara went from being “in awe“ to having a chat with Naseer, who he says was “quite good“ on the court.The two ended up talking about everything from the importance of theatre for Bollywood actors to whether Gurwara had any interest in films.
What stuck with Gurwara, he told the diarist, was a line Naseer said to him after he played a winning shot at the end of a long rally: “Yeh dimaag ka khel hai jo dil se khela jaata hai (This is a game of the mind, which is played from the heart)“.
“I later realized it's from the film Iqbal,“ said Gurwara, saying he specifically requested the actor to speak in Hindi because he speaks so well, to which Naseer gladly consented. Nothing like a little early morning sporting inspiration from a great to set you up for the day, right?
