Four Bolivian teams are vying to advance to the next round of the 2014 Copa Sudamericana (South American Cup), the regional soccer association said Monday.

According to the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), Wilstermann, San Jose, Universitario and Nacional Potosi will determine this week whether they qualify for the next competitions.

On Tuesday and Thursday there will be two games in Bolivia, while another two games will be played abroad, as part of second-leg matches.

Of the four teams, the lineup with the most probability to advance is Universitario, the current national champion that last week defeated Chile's Deportes Iquique 2-0 at Patria Stadium in Bolivia's southern constitutional capital of Sucre.

Universitario will now play Deportes Iquique Wednesday at 9 pm local time (01:00 GMT the next day). Deportes will have to ensure it doesn't receive more than two goals if it wants to advance to the next round.

San Jose, from the western Bolivian city of Oruro, Tuesday plays Chile's Huachipato at 4 pm (20:00 GMT) at its home stadium of Jesus Bermudez.

In their first match, Chile beat the Bolivians 3-1, but despite their decisive loss, the Bolivian team's single goal could be enough to keep the team alive if it wins its game this week.

Nacional, from Bolivia's southwest city of Potosi, will have to try its best Wednesday to hand Paraguay's Libertad a resounding defeat, after its slim 1-0 win over the Paraguayans in the first-leg match at Bolivia's Victor Agustin Ugarte Stadium. This week's game will be held in Paraguay's capital Asuncion at 7:30 pm (23:30 GMT).

Wilstermann, from central Cochabamba, goes up against Uruguay's Penarol on Thursday at Bolivia's Felix Capriles Stadium, at 9 pm (01:00 GMT the next day). In Montevideo, Penarol won 2-0.

Wilstermann has the difficult task of having to defeat its rival by at least 3-0 to stay in the tournament, since it lost the initial match 2-0. Endit
