olice have released Salamun, 26, and his wife, Mutaharoh, 24, residents of Kalirejo district, Central Lampung regency, Lampung but are still questioning four others who had also been arrested for their alleged involvement in the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
Central Lampung Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Yulias said Salamun and Mutaharoh, who were detained on Saturday, had been freed as the couple merely supported the organization.
'They learned about ISIL from the Internet. They thought ISIL were heroes who protected the weak,' Yulias said on Monday.
He added that local residents had painted the walls of Salamun's house and erased symbols of ISIL.
However, Yulias said the police were still holding four people who were arrested along with the couple for further questioning over their involvement in the organization.
He declined to divulge the identities of the four others.
