Happy intros, supportive seniors: The auditions of Clean & Clear Delhi Times Fresh Face 2014 at Kamala Nehru College were a happy and fun affair, where the enthusiastic contestants found many supporters among their seniors.
Each department and society had their own loyal base of cheering seniors, and in the end, many aspiring singers, models, actors and dancers reached the talent round, thanks to their society seniors, who in turn were encouraged to cheer even more loudly by Maddy, the emcee.
We’ve got talent: The talent round at KNC was high on energy and drama. Tripti impressed the crowd with her fun performance to Kaisi Paheli, among the many numbers that DJ Sumit Sethi obligingly played, and Kriti wowed them with her beatboxing skills. Another contestant acted out the Pyaar Ka Punchnama scene where the protagonist lashes out at his girlfriend. ‘Karate kid’ Devyani Redu showed off her dance skills, while fashion society fresher Mehak Ghai walked the ramp in style. The girls put their all into it, since they knew that the two girls who win this contest get a chance to become the face of Clean & Clear.
Fresher stars: In the Q&A round, Tanya Sethi was asked if she would agree to date a guy shorter than her, and she surprised everyone by saying she’d dated one in the past! She walked away with the first runner-up title, while karate girl Devyani was adjudged the second runner-up. The confident Mehak debunked the ‘attitude’ stereotype associated with fashion society girls, which got many more cheers from the crowd, and she was finally crowned this year’s winner at KNC.
