Tollywood's young actors up their style stakes!
Its not just the big stars who are opting for an image makeover, today, even Tollywoods young brigade is upping the ante in the style stakes.
Image makeover seems to be the latest success mantra among mana young Turks of Tollywood. If Sharwanand sported an edgy new hairdo in Run Raja Run, Rams trying a suave new look in Pandaga Chesko, Manchu Vishnus sporting a handlebar moustache for the first time in his life for Anukshanam and Goutham got most of his right arm tattooed and got a lean new frame.
Everyones getting themselves an image makeover onscreen and in the process, making very uncharacteristic style statements.
If Sharwanands look in his recent release Run Raja Run is anything to go by, it seems that the actor has finally shed his boy-next-door image. Sharwa, who has always charmed with his boyish looks, has undergone many transformations, oscillating from the clean shaven look to sporting a rustic moustache. But its not just his image makeover that has caught everyones attention. The spiky hairdo that the actor sported was perhaps his most fashionable persona so far. This stylish urbane look was a big hit with the youth. Besides making a strong fashion statement, the actor reckons the role would not have been so convincing sans the funky new look. A lot of thought seems to have gone into the conception of the look.
Ive always tried to experiment with my looks but never tried something as funky as the one in Run Raja Run. I thought its time for a makeover to move away from the boy-next-door image. Its a multi-layered character, Raja who looks like a bit of a goofball is pitted against a cunning police commissioner. Only towards the end its revealed that its me whos actually pulled an elaborate con on the cop. So the edgy styling lends an aura of believability to my character, explains Sharwanand.
Similarly, actor Ram too seems to be on a similar experimental mode when it comes to change in wardrobe. He has often tried to make a style statement with his hairstyles which earned him a sizeable female fan following. For his last film Masala, Ram experimented with gaudy, floral printed shirts and flamboyant slim fit pants orange, green, pink, neon you name it for his much appreciated effeminate act, which was quite a shift from the alpha male mirchi trader avatar in Ongole Githa which released earlier last year.

Ram is now gone in for a more chic styling for his upcoming film Pandaga Chesko. The actors stylish new avatar has become the talk of tinsel town.Ram has played live wire characters and wanted to unleash a new suave side of him onscreen. His boyish look and hairdo blend perfectly with his easy and casual persona on screen." So the crisp new styling has clearly set him apart. Ram shopped for his clothes and accessories in USA and Hong Kong.He also went for wavy and tousled hair this time, says a popular T-Town stylist.
Actor Nithiin played a commitment phobic hippy with a pony tail, spiked hair, torn denims and riding shoes in Heart Attack. Hes now gone in for a simple courier-boyavatar in his upcoming film Courier Boy Kalyan.
Meanwhile, ace comedian Brahmanandams son Raja Goutham too is hopeful that his new edgy look with tattoos and more muscular frame will cut it for him at the BO. After Basanthi, Goutham has opted for an image makeover in his upcoming youthful entertainer to be directed by debutant Sridhar Seepana. I played a college student who gets entangled in terrorist trap in my last film Basanti after my debut film Pallaki lo Pelli Koothuru (2004). I wanted to reinvent myself shed a few kilos, got a tattoo, muscled upto play a college student. Ive got great reviews so far hopefully it will help change my fortunes at the BO, hopes Goutham.
