Cape Town -Sunderland's Gus Poyet was thrilled that his side were able to exploit United's flaws at set-pieces while RVP laments a sloppy performance from United.
Match report: Sunderland v Manchester United
Sunderland boss revealed the secret behind his team's goal.
"We are bigger no doubt; we have Santi [Vergini], John [O’Shea], Wes [Brown], Jack [Rodwell], Fletch [Steven Fletcher] and Connor [Wickham], so it is going to be difficult for the opposition to defend against us, especially when you have the delivery of Sebastian Larsson or Adam Johnson."
“It is part of the game but it was a great header,” said Poyet to safc.com.
“I have been talking to players for many years about how difficult it is for goalkeepers if you head it down but it was the service was great as well.”
Robin Van Persie believes it was a case of two points dropped not one point gained against Sunderland.
"We dropped two points today," he told MUTV.
"Clearly we came here to win, and if you go in front after 15 minutes or so, we should have at least held on to that for longer.
"We were a bit too sloppy in possession, and in that sense we made it too hard for ourselves."
"We’ve played two games and only picked up one point, we would have loved to have got six points but it didn’t happen, so we have to bounce back." said Van Persie
“I feel good, I feel fit. I had a good few weeks of training and played my first hour today, so I'll look forward to the next game.” added the Dutch striker.
