Toll tax hiked on Godhra-Ahmedabad highway

Essel Ahmedabad Godhra Toll Road Limited has hiked toll tax on Godhra-Ahmedabad highway. Toll tax for each car has been raised to Rs. 75 from earlier rate of Rs. 50. Similarly for each trip of ST bus the rate is hiked to Rs. 290 from earlier Rs. 240. According to toll plaza operator, the company has increased toll tax as entire stretch has been made functional now.
Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) which runs state transport buses is likely to change the route of buses following the fresh hike in toll tax. Pilgrims of Dakor from Madhya Pradesh, Godhra, Dahod etc places will have to pay full toll tax for a few kilometers as option of Dakor is not given by authority.
The toll tax booth is situated at Vavdi near Godhra. New rates are made effective from Sunday midnight.
Essel Company has been awarded by NHAI the project of four laning of Ahmedabad to Godhra section of NH 59 for a total length of 117.60 Km in ujarat on DBFOT basis under NHDP III on DBFOT basis in consortium with China Railway 18th Bureau (Group) Corporation Ltd., which is a leading infrastructure player in China. The estimated project cost is around Rs. 1155.40 Crores.
