Bus overturns, 17 hurt

Seventeen persons, including eight women and two children, were injured when a private luxury bus they were traveling in overturned near Samarwada village, 5km from Dhanera in Banasakntha district on Sunday.

PALANPUR: Seventeen persons, including eight women and two children, were injured when a private luxury bus they were traveling in overturned near Samarwada village, 5km from Dhanera in Banasakntha district on Sunday.
Of the injured, 10 are said to be critically injured. The bus was on its way to Sanchor in Rajasthan from Surat.
According to police, the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp curve and skidded off the road and rammed the wall of a small bridge.

A pregnant woman Chaganben (25), a resident of Wagrod village in Rajasthan, is in critical condition at Dhanera Civil Hospital.
Sources said that both, the driver as well as the cleaner of the bus escaped after the accident.
