Celta Vigo claimed victory in their opening Primera Division match as they eased to a 3-1 win over Getafe at Balaidos on Sunday.

Nolito scored the opening goal for Celta in the 20th minute from Joaquin Larrivey's headed assist, with Fabian Orellana adding the second after the break before Jorge Sammir pulled one back for Getafe.

Larrivey made it three and sealed the win for the home side in the 70th minute as Celta claimed a well-deserved victory.

Celta hit their straps early on and showed Getafe that they meant business when Larrivey's 20-yard strike was blocked by Alexis in the second minute before Nolito struck the ball against the bar.

Fabian Orellana got into the action 10 minutes later and saw his long range effort cleared by Rafa with Angel Lafita having Getafe's first attempt on goal in the 13th minute with a drilled 25-yard shot which went wide.

Alvaro Vazquez forced a save from Celta keeper Alvarez Sergio but it was the home side who broke the deadlock shortly afterwards thanks to Nolito, who squeezed home his strike from a narrow angle.

Celta continued to have the lion's share of the chances, with both Nolito and Alex Lopez testing Getafe keeper Vicente Guaita throughout the half.

After the break, Lopez put an effort over the bar from close range before Michael Krohn-Delhi forced a save from Guaita from 25 yards out, with Nolito caught offside as he went in search of the rebound.

However, the home side did not have to wait for long to unlock the Getafe defence again, with Orellana curling the ball into the back of the net from just outside the box in the 56th minute.

Sammir pulled Getafe back into the match with a strike just after the hour mark but Larrivey linked up with Nolito to put the game out of the visitors' reach with 20 minutes remaining.
