French swimmer Manaudou claims 4th gold
French swimmer Florent Manaudou claimed his fourth gold medal at the European Championships in Berlin on Sunday, after winning the 50m freestyle event.

Manaudou clocked 21.32 seconds – a European record – to beat Poland’s Konrad Czerniak by 0.56 seconds and Finland’s Ari-Pekka Liukkonen by 0.61.
The Frenchman had already won golds in the 4x100m freestyle relay, 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle.
Meanwhile, Spain’s Mireia Belmonte Garcia set a continental record for the second time in as many days by winning the women’s 200m butterfly.
Belmonte clocked 2 minutes, 4.79 seconds to beat teammate Judit Ignacio Sorribes by 1.87 seconds and Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu by 2.49.
It was Belmonte’s second gold medal after she won the 1,500m freestyle in 15:57.29 on Saturday.
There was also a third gold for Britain’s Francesca Halsall after she won the women’s 50m freestyle final.
