Manaudou clocked 21.32 seconds – a European record – to beat Poland’s Konrad Czerniak by 0.56 seconds and Finland’s Ari-Pekka Liukkonen by 0.61.

The Frenchman had already won golds in the 4x100m freestyle relay, 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle.
Meanwhile, Spain’s Mireia Belmonte Garcia set a continental record for the second time in as many days by winning the women’s 200m butterfly.

Belmonte clocked 2 minutes, 4.79 seconds to beat teammate Judit Ignacio Sorribes by 1.87 seconds and Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu by 2.49.

It was Belmonte’s second gold medal after she won the 1,500m freestyle in 15:57.29 on Saturday.

There was also a third gold for Britain’s Francesca Halsall after she won the women’s 50m freestyle final.
