INDORE: A 25-year-old MCA student from Bhopal lodged a case of gang rape against three Indore-based engineers. The case which was lodged at TT Nagar police station of Bhopal on August 20 is now being investigated by Kanadiya police in Indore.
The girl alleged she became friends with engineers on a popular social networking site over a few weeks. All three accused, Sandeep Soni, Chetan Dubey and Sachin Sharma (aged between 25 and 28 years) are employed with premier companies in Pithampur Industrial Area of neighbouring Dhar district.
After becoming friends on social networking site, the girl began talking to them over phone and was invited by them to a party in Indore on August 10.
The MCA student went down to Indore and met one of the engineers, Sandeep Soni, who took her to a flat near Bengali Chowraha in Kanadiya area.
In her statement to TT Nagar police in Bhopal, the gang rape survivor alleged the trio drugged her before sexually assaulting her. When she became conscious, the engineers threatened to kill her if she went to the cops.
"The girl lodged a case of gang rape and criminal intimidation against the engineers at TT Nagar police station in Bhopal on August 20. Investigations transferred the case to Indore and we're conducting raids to arrest the accused, who are on the run," Kanadiya police station in charge Sanjay Chaturvedi said on Saturday.
