2013 record: 2-8 Returning starters: Four offense, seven defense
Last playoff appearance: 1990
Strengths: Better off-season program
Weaknesses: Battling lack of tradition; lots of inexperience; and one-year coach Justin Hoffman was just recently removed because of interest in another job
Players to watch: Karson Avila, So., QB, 6-0, 180; Hayden Blubaugh, So., RB-DB, 5-8, 175; Dominique Carrasco, Sr., WR-DB, 6-3, 180; Richard Cardahena, Sr., OL-ILB, 6-0, 195; Malik Feals-Pompey, Sr., RB-DB, 5-10, 165; Noah Francis, Sr., OL-DL, 6-0, 190; Jerrell Ganaway, Sr., TE-DE, 6-3, 190; Dante Lewis, RB-DE, Jr., 6-0, 205; Shane Wyatt, So., WR-RB, 6-0, 180; Carlos Zerna, Sr., OL-DL, 5-10, 210.
In 2014: Buffs remain in turmoil – in addition to firing their coach just days before the season opener, they haven’t had a winning record or made the playoffs heading into a 24th year.
