JAIPUR: This 50-year-old woman's tricks have shocked the police. Mishri Bai, who had escaped from a police station in the city after defrauding a constable, was caught from Madhya Pradesh where she was lodged in a jail. The woman used to defraud illiterate women after scaring them on the pretext of bad luck in their family. The city police have brought her to Jaipur and produced her in a court that sent her to two-day police remand.
According to the police, Mishri Bai had defrauded Beena Devi in Amber police station area in September last year. "It came up that she had defrauded many other women in the city including one in Sanganer. She was detained but she managed to flee after defrauding a constable," said a police officer.
The officer said after detention, the woman had given the police an address of Haridwar in Uttar Pradesh, it was found fake. The police searched her name on Google and found that she was released on bail by a court in Jabalpur. The police contacted Chattarpur police that had arrested her, but found that the address she gave at the time of arrest was fake again.
"We came to know about one Arjun Singh, who had provided security for her release on bail. We traced him and interrogated him. It came up that the woman had surrendered before a court in Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. A team brought her to Jaipur on production warrant," said the officer.
