Historical Kailash Yatra begins

BHADERWAH Aug 22: The ancient and historical Kailash Yatra left for Kailash Kund today.
The yatra started from Vasuki Nag  temple  Gatha after the Bhajan, Kirtan,  Havan  and Pooja of the mace through various villages like Gatha, Radio Station Colony, Kotli Link Road, Seri Bazar and reached near Vasuki Nag temple Vasuki Dehra where another mace from the same temple met the mace and both left for Kailash Kund.
The yatris raised religious slogans like Jai Bole Jai Nage Vask Ki Jai, etc. Large number of pilgrims from District Chamba of Himachal Pradesh, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Jammu region and outside States participated in this yatra.
Today the yatra will take its first night stay at Hayan just five kilometers from the Bhaderwah and next day early in the morning it will leave for Kailash Kund and it would reach the Kund same day.Yatra starts  from Gatha through the many tracks like Ganthak, Ramtund, Sankh Paddar Rishi Dal, Gow Paida etc. Total distance is of 14 miles and the whole distance is on foot.
The Kund is a big lake of cold and crystal clear water of 1.5 mile  circumference and  it is situated at the height of 14,500 feet from the sea level. Yatris will of the take  bath in the cold water  of the Kund and perform Pooja of Lord Shiva and Vasuki Nag and on August 24.
Yatra will then return to Bhaderwah. Tight security arrangements have been made for the yatra  in which police, CRPF and Army Jawans have been deployed. Several religious organizations and people have made langars for Yatris on some places.
