Kichloo for timely completion of SICOP projects

SRINAGAR, Aug 22:  Srinagar to get Rs 27.21 crore Sanat Ghar soon which is near completion at Bemina. The Sanat Ghar will accommodate offices of all heads of departments and corporations under the administrative control of Industries and Commerce Department under one roof.
This information was given to the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Home & Tourism, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, today at an officers meeting held here to review the achievements of J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP)
The meeting reviewed the status of various projects being executed across the State which are at different levels of completion.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of upgradation of Industrial Estate at Gangyal which has been completed at a cost of Rs 9.83 crore. Meanwhile, the Minister also directed for preparation of DPRs for the second phase of the project.
Referring to the Industrial Estate at Govindsar Kathua, the Minister was informed that the said estate is completely functional and land measuring 521 kanals has been allotted to 81 prospective entrepreneurs. All basic infrastructure facilities like power, roads, water, drains and other amenities have been made available in the estate.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister urged upon the concerned officers to ensure timely completion of all projects under execution. Mr. Kichloo said that small scale industries have an important role to play in combating the menace of unemployment in the State. He called upon the educated unemployed youth to take benefit of various Government initiatives and schemes in the industry sector and ensure self-employment for them.
