4 cops suspended, PAC redeployed in Fatehgarh village

Circle Officer, Fatehgarh, Yogesh Kumar said the triple murder was the fallout of a murder which took place last month in the village.

A local Samajwadi Party leader Kunwar Pal Yadav, who is also a history sheeter, was shot when he had intervened in a dispute between two persons, Rajveer Singh and Ankit, in the village over installation of a mobile tower on July 11.  He added Yadav was invited by Rajveer Singh. Ankit and his associates shot Yadav while the latter was trying to resolve the issue.

Ankit and his associates, Atul and Shivpal Singh, were arrested for Yadav’s murder. They are lodged in jail at present.  After the murder, PAC was deployed in the village but was withdrawn later.

During inquiry, it was found that after the PAC was withdrawn, Nawabganj police station SO did not take any preventive action and neither the in-charge of the area visited the village to take stock of the situation. Both constables are accused of not providing any feedback to the police station.

The CO said they believed that the assailants who executed the shootout Wednesday were associates of Kunwar Pal Yadav. He added the PAC have  been redeployed.

The suspended policemen are Mohammad Abbas, SO of Nawabganj PS, sub-inspector Ram Sewak and constables Ram Sewak and Haroon.

On Wednesday, Munne Khan (60), Shyambheer Singh (60) and Inspector Singh (55) were attacked at Babana village. Munne and Shyambheer died on the spot while Inspector Singh was injured. The assailants opened fire on one Amiruddin (55) when he tried to stop the assailants. Amiruddin died during treatment.
