MPPEB racket was rigging All India PMT too
BHOPAL: Touts, who played active role in Madhya Pradesh's MPPEB scam, were allegedly involved in rigging All India PMT (AIPMT) since 2004. This was revealed during interrogation of Dr Santosh Chaurasia, who was arrested by Delhi's crime branch, on Tuesday.
He was wanted in connection with MPPEB scam. Gwalior SIT declared a cash award of Rs 15,000 for info leading to his arrest.
During interrogation, Dr Chaurasia revealed that he is a final year student of MBBS in Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi.

It was a tough task for police to arrest him as he used to change his mobile numbers and was communicating with the MPPEB's racket through his email santoshvmmc@..com. He was living lavishly, changed his BMWs twice in a year and had purchased a farmhouse near Delhi-Agra express highway.
"He is a close associate of Dr Deepak Yadav, one of the key associate of the examination scam. Chaurasia came in contact with Yadav in 2003 and since then he has been associated with him," Delhi police told media. He used to get candidates for Yadav.
Chaurasia himself had cleared PMT in 2004 and was impersonated by a scorer, it's alleged. He took admission in SAIMS, Indore. He was not seen in MP after 2006, the year he was booked for duping a candidate of Rs 15 lakh. The candidate was promised admission in medical college. Co-accused in that case was tainted CSP Rakshyapal Yadav's elder son.

And then Chaurasia was spotted at Pulse 2007 in New Delhi. He campaigned for BSP during elections as well.
"He cleared AIPMT in 2006 and there too as well he was impersonated by a scorer," said Dr Anand Rai, a whistleblower in MPPEB scam. "Chaurasia scoured candidates for AIPMT and MPPMT for his boss Deepak Yadav and another module in UP," he added.
Delhi police claimed Dr Deepak Yadav would charge Rs 5 to 8 lakh per candidate and Dr Chaurasia was given his share. Chaurasia is wanted in four cases of cheating, forgery and Examination Act of Jhansi Road Police Station, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He was earlier arrested in 2006 in an MBA admission racket along with other associates at Police Station Chandan Nagar, Indore, and the case is pending trial.
Dr Santosh Chaurasia was produced in Patiala House Court from where he was handed over to Madhya Pradesh Police on transit remand on Thursday.
