Jason Tell has been named a senior planning manager in the Portland, Ore. office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In his new position, Tell will manage transportation infrastructure policy, planning, and design projects in Oregon and Washington, assisting public agencies on funding issues, public and political support, policy issues, and implementation strategies for complex transportation projects.

Tell has over 20 years’ experience working at the federal, state, and local level on transportation policy, funding, and infrastructure projects. He worked at the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) since 1996, most recently serving as the agency’s Region 1 manager, responsible for planning, construction, and maintenance in a four-county area that includes the City of Portland.  During his tenure at ODOT, he worked on road, transit, freight, and bicycle/pedestrian projects in the Portland region, supervising a staff of 600. 

Earlier in his career, Tell worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a congressional aide. He began at ODOT as a government relations specialist and advised members of Congress, state, and local elected officials, as well as the Oregon Transportation Commission on transportation issues.

Tell received a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from the University of Idaho.
