Students to get photocopies of answer sheets

NASHIK: The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) will be giving out photocopies of answer sheets to its students from this academic year, the newly-appointed vice-chancellor (VC) of the university, Manikrao Salunkhe, told media persons at a press meet held on Thursday evening.
Salunkhe, who took charge from VC of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), who was also officiating as VC for YCMOU, said, "We will be giving photo copies of the answer sheets to the students.We will also be starting blogs of our university soon."
He informed that branding and promotion of the university will also be done for YMCOU.
"The work of the university does not reach people and that is why they are unaware of many things. We will soon start branding and promotion of the university through the media and technology," said Salunkhe. He said that he would try to establish a research centre here.
"The blockages for the registration for PhDs in 2007 will be cleared. However, those who have applied for PhDs from 2009 will have to adhere to the new rules and regulations," he added.
Emphasis on the university as a centre of excellence, skill development and technology would be given and transparency would be maintained in every aspect, Salunkhe pointed out.
"For administrative work, a new common policy will be formulated and implemented. This will ensure transparency," he signed off.
