NAGPUR: Two accidental deaths were registered by city Police on Wednesday-- one by Ambazari police station and the other by
Lakadganj police station.
Munje layout resident Vinod Mendhe, 35 died on August 17. While reaching for his bottle of liquor, he instead picked up a bottle of a poisonous substance and consumed it. He fell ill and was admitted at medical college and hospital.
He was declared dead on August 20 at 6pm. Accidental death was registered at Ambazari police station.
In another incident, a 20-year-old housewife was declared dead while undergoing treatment for poisoning on August 20. On August 19, at around 11.30am, husband of victim
Kajal Marve found her vomiting.
She was taken to a private hospital where doctors said she was suffering from poisoning, said WPSI AG Wankhede of Lakadganj police station. But she succumbed on August 20 around 6pm.
Rickshaw-puller killed in hit-and-run accident
A 53-year-old rickshaw puller, identified
Avinash Kale, was killed in a hit-and-run case. Kale was returning home at Joshi wadi, when an unidentified vehicle hit him at Wanjari Nagar on Wednesday and fled. He was declared dead in the wee hours of Thursday.
Police said Kale was on foot dragging his rickshaw when the vehicle rammed him. Ajni police have registered an offence against the unidentified driver.
