Speculations were rife about who would play the third female character in director Sriram Raghavan’s Badlapur, and now we have got to know that it is Divya Dutta. Though the story of the film is about two male protagonists, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Varun Dhawan and their diverse situations, the female actresses played by Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and now Divya Dutta have small, but important roles to play. “The three actresses are just part of the situations that Dhawan faces in different stages during the10-15 year span that the film covers,” said a source close to the project.
Dutta herself is pretty excited about being part of Raghavan’s film. “I was the last add-on, as for quite some time, the makers were on the lookout for an actor to play this part. I was thrilled when I was asked to come on board because the film is edgy and each character is very layered,” she said while adding that she could not divulge more about the film which wrapped up on August 15 in Pune.
Meanwhile Dutta is looking forward to Traffic, the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film of the same name and Aayee Bala Ko Taal Tu, a satire with Rishi Kapoor and Ram Kapoor. “There are two more films but I cannot talk about them right now,” she said.
