Brandao suspended after PSG headbutt
Bastia striker Brandao has been provisionally suspended until September 18 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ligue de Football
Professionnel and could yet face further action over his headbutt on Paris St Germain's Thiago Motta.
Shortly after last Saturday's 2-0 win for PSG over Bastia, footage emerged of a clash between the two players in the tunnel.
The video showed veteran Brazilian striker Brandao - in his debut season with the Corsican club - appearing to head-butt his opponent, an incident which left Motta with a broken nose.
In a statement on Thursday evening, the LFP's Disciplinary Committee announced it would hold a full hearing into the incident on September 18, with the 34-year-old suspended until then.
Brandao, who joined Bastia after leaving St Etienne on a free transfer, attended Thursday's hearing.
Earlier this week, Bastia announced they would take no action against the player despite condemning his behaviour in the incident.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had called for him to receive a lifetime ban.
