Cape Town - Teazers owner Lolly Jackson said on Tuesday he is considering taking legal action against the ANC Women's League after they allegedly verbally abused him outside the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.
Jackson said he was verbally abused by protesting members of the league as he was arriving at the court on Tuesday to face charges of blackmail, crimen injuria and intimidation.
The strip club boss was charged by Michael Kalyminios and ex-Teazers stripper Yuliyana Moshorovs'ka who claimed that Jackson had followed and threatened them.
He was arrested in February as he arrived at his Teazers Rivonia branch.
Jackson told News24 that he was very angry that he was subjected to such treatment from people who did not even understand the nature of his business.
"I asked them if they knew what my business was about," he said.
"They don't even know me. What gives them the right to call me a rapist, a murderer, a child molester, a wife beater or a criminal when they don't even know what I do?
Open letter
In an open letter to the ANCWL, Jackson claims he had been spat on, had stones thrown at him, and had his car scratched.
"… I would like to know if it is common practice for your members to act in such a manner," he wrote in the letter.
Jackson said he was currently speaking to his legal advisors to see what action could be taken against them.
"I am sick and tired of the ANC Women's League and their nonsense," he said.
He said he believes that the ANCWL members from the Ekurhuleni branch had each been paid R300 by Kalyminios to appear outside the court. Kalyminios is an alleged card-carrying ANC member.
"I would like to know how long he’s been a card carrying ANC member," he said. "You'd probably find that it's only been a few months."
"He had to point me out to them because they did not even know me," said Jackson.
He also said he believed Teazers was getting free publicity because of the protests.
"This is how stupid the fat idiot (Kalyminios) really is," he said. "He thinks he can close my business, this is free publicity for Teazers."
