Four missing Bala Sadan students traced

The girls, who went missing on Wednesday, were found loitering at the city railway station. On receiving information, Nuzvid Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) G. Mangamma questioned the employees and students in this case.

Four students, who were missing from the Bala Sadan, Nuzvid, on Wednesday, were traced at the city railway station. The girls were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Thursday.

According to Women Development and Child Welfare, Krishna district, Project Director K. Krishna Kumari, the girls -- B. Vijaya Sivakumari, a seventh class student, B. Bhoolakshmi and T. Rani, both studying Class-III and S. Megamala, in her second standard –were inmates at the government-run Bala Sadan. They went missing from the Sadan on Wednesday.

On receiving information, Nuzvid Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) G. Mangamma questioned the employees and students in this case. According to Bala Sadan Superintendent M. Sri Lakshmi, the girls went missing while they were on their way to the Government School in the town. Following a complaint, the Nuzvid police registered a case.

“Three of the missing girls were orphans. The CWC referred the girls to the home two years ago. We are inquiring how the inmates went missing,” Ms. Krishna Kumari said.

District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Ch. Vijay Kumar said the Childline employees traced the girls while they were moving at the city railway station. They were produced before the CWC, and their health condition was good, said the DCPO.
