For someone who has achieved much popularity and success in films and has the sobriquet ‘Megastar’, he is pretty grounded, especially when it comes to talking about his 150 movie.

“All those who have narrated a story to me, or those who I am yet to meet, seem to be coming up with subjects that are rather heavy and centre around action, fantasy, mythology or the concept of a ‘superhero’. But what I am looking for is a plain and simple entertainer, with a subject that is the key,” says former Union Minister and current Rajya Sabha member, Konidela Chiranjeevi.

Ahead of his 59 birthday (August 22), he spoke about life in general and his tryst with films. But without doubt, it is a fact that there are more questions about his 150 film - what it will be and how he will appear before the camera, considering his long ‘sabbatical’ of almost six years.

Asked how it felt being away from films in a way, he shakes his head in disagreement. “Not at all! Yes, I have not acted for a while but that does not mean people have forgotten me. Look at the interest generated about my 150 film, among my fans and industry personalities,” he said.

“Do you think Amitabh Bachchan was talking through his hat when he said at a function recently that he would like to see me on screen again?” So what’s the dope about this much talked about landmark? “As of now, my son Ramcharan Tej will produce the film and yes, I will act in it. It will be an out-and-out entertainer, showcasing me at my best. We have not finalised the story,” the megastar says.
