Rakshit Shetty To Direct Sudeep In Thugs Of Malgudi

Actor/Director Rakshit Shetty will be directing Sandalwood superstar Sudeep in a new movie. The promise was made by Sudeep on the Bigg Boss Kannada 2 stage, for which Sudeep is the host. Rakshit had expressed that he would like to cast Sudeep as a leader of a band of dacoits.

Seems like Sudeep and Rakshit are going to keep up the promise made to each other. The sources say that Rakshit will direct Sudeep in a movie tentatively titled as Thugs of Malgudi. However, the name has not been confirmed. Malgudi is the famous fictional town created by celebrated writer R K Narayan.

Due to the addition of Malgudi in the name, it is being speculated that the story could be based on pre-independence times. It would be interesting to know if the movie will include any of the characters from R K Narayan's Malgudi Days.

Currently both Rakshit and Sudeep are busy with their upcoming movies. Sudeep is working with the Attarintiki Daredi remake. He will next work in Hebbuli with director Krishna. Rakshit is finishing up on Yogaraj Bhat's Vaasthu Prakara and then will work with Rishab Shetty in Rikki. It is expected that Rakshit Shetty may start the Sudeep starrer movie next year and may also rope in Lucia fame director Pawan Kumar into making the movie.
