Avoid falling in love after a one-night stand

When it comes to one-night stands, most men and women today want no-strings attached sex. But sometimes, one of them can develop feelings for the other, which throws the whole equation for a toss. Pick the right person

Do not have a one-night stand with someone you know or worse, someone you fancy. A one-night stand is best had with someone you plan to never see again. If an acquaintance and you end up sleeping together, things can get very complicated when you bump into each other in the future.

Keep it impersonal

Strictly follow the 'don't ask, don't tell' rule. The more you get to know a person, the more likely it is to find aspects of them that you like or worse, can fall in love with. The less you know, the least attached you will be. Name, age and field of work is fine, but stay clear of hobbies, interests and other personal topics.

Don't exchange details

If you feel you may be falling for your one-night stand, don't offer to make her breakfast and certainly don't ask her for contact details. This means no cell phone numbers to be exchanged to start with. And in the age of social media, do not add them on Facebook or Twitter.

Focus on the bad

Unless you manage to hook up with Jessica Alba or Bradley Cooper, chances are the person you had a night's encounter with, has some physical flaws. Whether it's a saggy bottom or bad breath now is the time to magnify the flaws so that you end up feeling partially repulsed.
