Geetika's kin beaten up by Gopal Goyal Kanda lawyers

NEW DELHI: Former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda was once again in the news for the wrong reasons when his lawyers allegedly roughed up Geetika Sharma's father and brother at Rohini court.
Police have received complaints from both sides as the lawyers claim to have been roughed up as well.
The judge was not present in the courtroom when the incident took place.
The parties were arguing over the next date of hearing.There were hearing arguments of both sides going on over the date of next hearing on Wednesday. The judge was not present in the court room when the incident took place.
Geetika's brother, Ankit, said Kanda and his lawyers began to foul mouth him after they asked for a date in September instead of November as the trial was being already delayed. "When I resisted, a lawyer kicked me in the stomach after pushing me into the witness box. Kanda provoked them to hit us," he said.
When contacted, one of Kanda's counsel, Kapil Sankhla, termed the act as an attempt to have a false case registered against them. "Nothing of what is being alleged happened. In fact, the father-son created a ruckus in front of everyonecounsels, court staff and the police. Nobody raised their hand," he said.
