Anjalie Gupta is excited about her debut in Tollywood
Anjalie Gupta, who was last seen in a cameo in Satya 2, is quite excited about her upcoming Telugu film, Nala Damayanthi, which is being directed by Ko Ve Ra, a former associate of screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad. Shes paired up opposite Sri Vishnu in this romantic film, which has a slight mythological twist to it. Im playing the role of a girl, whos very sensitive, emotional and traditional.
And its in complete contrast to the role of an aspiring actress that I did in Satya 2. It was a learning experience for me. However, this will be my first full-fledged role and Im quite excited about it, says Anjalie, wholl soon head to Kerala to shoot key portions of the film.
Ask her if the language is posing a challenge for her, like it does to most Mumbai based model-turned-actresses and Anjalie bursts out laughing recalling an incident which occurred on the first day of the shoot. I think my director had high expectations from me when I came onboard and I didnt know that I was supposed to say my lines in Telugu. It was so tough that I even thought of running away, but I hung on to it and took it up as a challenge to learn my lines. Im doing my best to make a name for myself here, she admits.
Apparently, acting wasnt her first love and she confesses that she always wanted to be a ramp model. I did do ramp shows for few months prior to my debut in films, but I didnt like it so much. I guess, no matter how much you plan, few things just dont happen the way you want to be. In the meantime, I dabbled in theatre, acting workshops and learnt Kathak and here Im, chasing my dream, Anjalie reveals.
