You won't believe who Rio Ferdinand is backing for EPL glory!

Cape Town - QPR defender Rio Ferdinand has made his English Premiership 2014/15 title predictions and has left pundits in awe of his choice.

The Express report that former England international defender Rio Ferdinand has had his say on who will walk away as champions at the end of the 2014/15 season.

Ferdinand has rubbished any hopes that Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool may have had about winning the league.

"I do not see Chelsea winning [the title]."

"They [Arsenal] have bought well but I just don't know where all their players are going to fit.

"Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, when he is fit Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski." said Ferdinand.

"The biggest problem for Liverpool is that for many of their players, this is the first time they are playing in the Champions League.

"They are not used to the volume of games that they will have to play now and they've got a lot of new players who have to get accustomed to the new way of life." said the six-time league winner.

So who does Rio think will win the league?

"I'm backing Manchester United to win the league." said the ex-Red Devil.

"Manchester United will win because they have a good manager. Wayne Rooney is a good choice as captain. This is his 10th year and he will be top scorer in the League this season.

"Obviously they need their best players fit. Last season Robin Van Persie did not play much but he could also be a top scorer."

If you want to back Rio's picks with your buck, then local bookmakers Sportingbet are offering some great odds on Rio's predictions.

Punters can get 11/1 odds on Manchester United winning the league while the bookmakers are offering 8/1 odds on Wayne Rooney ending the season as the league's top scorer.

Manchester United face Sunderland away on Sunday, August 24.
