ASW 2020 holders get 6.6 sen dividend


KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), has announced an income distribution of 6.60 sen per unit for Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020) for the financial year ending August 31, 2014.

The dividend declared for this year was one sen short from 6.7 sen dividend per unit announced last year.

PNB chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid said the income distribution for ASW 2020 involved a total payment of RM1.115bil, 5.8% higher from RM1.053bil last year.

There are 891,446 unit holders of ASW 2020 would benefit from the income distribution. All ASW  2020 transaction would be suspended on August 26 until September 1, to facilitate the income distribution.

Meanwhile, PNB president and chief executive officer Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman said the dividend could be as high as 9.3 sen per unit, but PNB has decided to bring forward about 2.7 sen per unit to the next financial year.

Up to August 18, ASW 2020 has recorded a gross income of RM1.329bil.
