BHOPAL: Former MP from Damoh seat Chandrabhan Singh Lodhi returned to BJP on Tuesday, six years after he was expelled for abstaining from voting in the 2008 Lok Sabha vote of confidence against the UPA government's Indo-US nuclear deal. Chandrabhan Singh was accepted back into the party fold by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during a by-poll road show in the Bahoriband assembly constituency.
After he was expelled from the BJP, Chandrabhan Singh joined the Congress party and contested two assembly elections against finance minister Jayant Malaiya and lost. Quintessentially from the Uma Bharati faction, Chandrabhan Singh came back to the BJP claiming he has always been influenced by party's good governance policies. He said Chouhan government has worked for uplift of poor, farmers, women, youth and backward. Former MP claimed he is happy to be back where he belonged.
