Ex-Liverpool defender has EPL offers

Cape Town - Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise could make an English Premiership return with the player gathering interest from Aston Villa.

Sky Sports report that the out of contract defender is mulling over several offers.

After failing to agree a new deal with Fulham, the 33-year-old defender is now a free agent. 

"There has been some interest from a few English clubs," Riise told VG

"Aston Villa is one of them. There has been some interest from Spain also.

"But there is nothing on the table yet." said Riise.

Aston Villa appear to be the front-runners in securing Riise's signature while the player has decided against a move outside of Europe due to family reasons. 

"Of course there has been interest and things I have rejected," Riise added.
