Enmity, mishaps devour fourteen lives

At least 14 persons including two women were killed and 20 other injured different incidents of enmity, violence and other mishaps over the past 24 hours.
According to details, in Jhang a man gunned down his real father over land dispute and later shot himself dead here in Mauza Booti Wala.
Reportedly, Ghulam Muhammad had a land dispute with his father Sarang Khan. The other day Ghulam Muhammad demanded his father to give him his land share but he refused.
Flared up at the denial, Ghulam opened indiscriminate firing on his father, killing him on the spot and later on committed suicide by shooting himself up. The police handed over the dead bodies to the family after autopsy and registered a case.
In another mishap which happened on Jhang-Faisalabad Road near Chembran Wali Police checkpost, a police constable was knocked down by a passenger van. As per details, a Faisalabad-bound passenger van (FSM-4554) on the way from Layyah rammed into a barrier erected by the police at checkpost on Jhang-Faisalabad Road near Chembran Wali. Resultantly, constable Imdad Hussain died on the spot while constable Nazeer Ahmed sustained critical wounds and was admitted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad in serious condition. The Mochiwala Police have arrested van driver Majeed.
Similarly a passerby was knocked down by a motorcyclist in Rodoo Sultan. Irshad Khan, a resident of Munday Syedan was crossing road when suddenly a speeding motorcycle hit him, killing him on the spot while three persons riding the bike sustained received serious injuries and were admitted to a private clinic of Atharan Hazari.
In another mishap which took place in Peer Abdul Rehman, a 17-year-old girl was killed in crossfire. The incident occurred when Qureshi Group and Khalifa Group indulged in crossfire. As a result 17-year-old Sumaira Bibi received a bullet and died on the spot while five others including five-year-old Saqlain Abbas, Khizer Hayat, Samer Abbas, Aleem Raza and Tanveer Ahmed sustained critical wounds and were admitted to hospital. The Garh Mahraja Police have registered a case.
In yet another mishap a young man sick of his domestic affairs committed suicide. Reportedly, 22-year-old Sajid Abbas, a resident of Bharari was working in Ashiana Cotton Mills Gojra Road. He was very disappointed over his domestic affairs. He committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills.
A man axed his wife to death. As per details, Nasir, a resident of Mauza Hassan Shah often quarrelled with his 24-year-old wife Abida Bibi. The couple again had quarrel over a petty family issue at which Nasir flared up and axed his wife to death. The Satellite Town Police have registered a case.
In Sargodha, a police head constable was killed in road mishap.
According to police, head constable identified as Ghulam Mustafa, deployed at Police Lines School was killed in road accident.
Ghulam Mustafa was on the way to Dharma area of the city when a speeding truck hit his motorcycle. He sustained critical injuries and breathed his last before reaching hospital.
Meanwhile, four persons were killed and 15 others sustained injuries in collision between a passenger van and truck here on Tuesday.
According to police a passenger van collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Khushab Road, killing four passengers on the spot and left 15 others injured.
The injured and deceased were shifted to hospital for medico- legal formalities.
Police said that that accident took place due to speeding.
Meanwhile in DASKA, two factory workers died of snake bite while asleep in servant quarter adjacent to their workplace in Small Industrial Estate Glotiyaan here on Tuesdat.
Four factory workers including 47-year-old Nasir Ahmed, 22-year-old Asfandyar, 44-year-old Yousaf Shamas and Ashfaq Sadiq were asleep on the ground in a servant quarter adjacent to their factory in Small Industrial Estate Glotiyaan-Daska. Early Tuesday morning, they started crying loudly due to their critical condition and were taken to Daska THQ Hospital, where two of them - Nasir Ahmed, a resident of Sillanwali-Sargodha and Asfandyar, a resident of Pakpattan died. According to doctor, a poisonous snake might have bitten them. The two other victims Yousaf Shamas and Ashfaq Sadiq were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Kharian where their condition was stated to be critical.
