Selex ES, an electronics and IT business, has officially opened a new £10 million facility at Millbrook Industrial Park, Southampton, which will employee 530 people.

The newly refurbished base consolidates the activities of the company’s three previously separate South Coast sites in a single location. The move involved relocating more than 250 employees from Christchurch and 50 from Portsmouth. The company is a subsidiary of the Italian industrial giant Finmeccanica.

It says that the new facility will play host to some of the group’s communications and air traffic management products, as well as a number of airborne and marine technologies.
