AA Roadwatch broadcaster has listeners in stitches with entertaining rap: 'Delays you’ll be havin', on the road to Navan'

Delivering daily traffic bulletins to stressed-out commuters can't be always easy.

The AA Roadwatch crew often face the unenviable task of delivering the day's traffic news in tongue-twistingly short sound bites.

But broadcaster Noel Byrne had listeners in stitches today with his original lyrical rendition of the traffic news.

Mr Byrne's entertaining rap detailed traffic updates on Dublin, Cork, and Galway.

“Delays you’ll be havin, on the road to Navan,” he told listeners.

“If you live in a place that they call Naas, you’ll be at a loss at Newland’s Cross,” he said referring to the current bottleneck on the N7.

“On the quays, it’s a bit of a squeeze”...While “in Bray, traffic is A-OK,” the broadcaster chimed.

Fill-in 2FM presenter Eoghan McDermott had challenged Mr Byrne to rap the traffic bulletin on DriveBy.

For Corkonians, he said: “You’ll be facing delays – that’s why I’m dropping this beat.”

And in Salthill, Galway, Mr Byrne said: “Traffic is the bomb up on the Prom”.

Listeners are in for another treat on Friday, when Mr Byrne has promised to perform a traffic rap again.
